Guess what–My daughter is officially entering the world of BOOKS, I turned in #5 to the publisher, and what I really wanted to tell you–a limited time special on my new release! This lost love letter story, the novel fuelled by copious episodes of Signed, Sealed, and Delivered, has gone from disastrous mess to a surprising finished story that ended up slipping into cracks of my heart I didn’t even want to admit were there. I’m so excited to show you what God has done with the story, with my heart, and its release is coming next month. So for a short time, Baker Book House is graciously offering The Love Note at 40% off with free shipping… and a few little bonuses! (Details below.) Another cool thing–Baker ships it out as soon as it’s in the store, so there’s a good chance you’ll receive it before release day, and that makes me happy. <3 Just a reminder if you’re thinking about getting in on this deal–it’s only this month, September. >>Get this deal here I plan to pop on for a live video closer to launch date–so watch for that coming up! |
The Love Note “If I should happen to fall in love, the outcome of such a plight depends, like any big fall, on who is there to catch you…” Whoever wrote the stunning love letter abandoned in that old desk is more than worthy of the love he so desperately wants. The unknown individual writes with a devotion and authenticity Willa Duvall has never seen before—even after receiving three proposals herself. She’s determined to find the writer, reunite the couple, and deliver the unopened love letter to whoever it was meant for—as long as it isn’t too late. When she arrives at Crestwicke to serve as nurse, there are more than physical wounds to heal. Not a single happily-ever-after exists in the chilly old tudor house by the sea, and Willa cannot imagine who among them might have written that letter. From shattered love stories to those still longing for theirs, the family living at Crestwicke is all about to experience Willa Duvall’s personal care–and the letter she’s snuck in with her. “The quickest way to repair a broken heart is to use it.” Nothing will be the same. She’ll make certain of it. I invite you to eavesdrop on the love stories of Crestwicke, with all their secrets and disappointments and unexpected victories. May you find pieces of your own longings reflected there, as well as a little healing for your heart. I hope it isn’t what you expect, but that you love it anyway. “You, in particular, need to hear the entire story, and one day you’ll understand why. Lock the door and sit down.” |

as expected, loved this one…waiting for your next since have already read your others

Thank you, Linda! I’m honored that you’ve read them all. I’m still working on the next one so it’ll be out next year 😉

I enjoy all your novels, and I was anxiously awaiting THE LOVE NOTE. Unfortunately, my crazy life usually leaves me little time to actually read the books. I often manage to “read” books by listening to the audio version these days. Any idea when THE NOTEBOOK might be available as an audiobook. Keep those crazy twists coming.
Joanna Politano says
Hi Dawn, I’m so honored that you’ve enjoyed my novels! Unfortunately I don’t think The Love Note will have an audio version. I totally hear you on the crazy life–I LOVE audio books and find so many great stories that way!
Roger Mikesell says
This is now 2024 and, as you know I am sure, it is available from Audible and I have just finished listening to it.
I believe I have listened to well over 700 audio books), mostly biographies, war, and history, including historical fiction. I was focusing on these kinds of books because I want to understand how people who are under such terrible stress are able to cope. The latest book of this sort was about a family that started out so happy, but ends up in a Nazi concentration camp. It was so graphic, and so sad, that I was only able to get about half way through it. Man’s inhumanity to each other is hard for me to deal with so coping with the reality as described in theat book was beyond me. I don’t know if I will ever be able to go back to that genre again.
I was grasping for an alternative and picked up “Lady Jayne Disappears” because it sounded like a comfortable mystery. Three of your books later, these books are about to be re-listened to again before moving on to one of your other books. These stories are among the very best I have ever read or listened to. The first line of the prolog for the first book, says, “Walk among the normal folk by day, but in your heart know you are Robin Hood in disguise”. What a great, positive, and interesting concept. Your books are full of these deep thoughts which often begin your chapters, but also regularly pop up in your character dialogs. I really, really appreciate them, and hope it is OK to share some of them with my friends from my Facebook account, (giving you and your book full credit of course). Your other books I have listened to so far are “The Love Note” and “The Lost Melody”.
To me, they are all interesting, contain these thought provoking ideas and are simply amazing.
I am writing this just to make sure it will be OK to post some of your thoughts, and also to simply let you know what an impact your writing has had on my life.
Many blessings!!

Oh goodness, what a kind and beautiful comment! I so appreciate your words of encouragement, and I’m so honored you read (listened to) and enjoyed some of my stories.
You very eloquently put into words how I feel about WWII fiction, as well. I started out writing in that era (mostly as a project to do with my WWII vet grandfather when he needed a project toward the end of his life) but the research into concentration camps about did me in. My heart and mind absolutely couldn’t handle the way humans treated other humans. I’ll never regret the connection made with my grandpa, but I wish I could un-read so much of the research books I read.
You’re more than welcome to share quotes from my books! I’m so honored you wish to do so! If you haven’t yet read it, A Rumored Fortune is one you might enjoy. It had the deepest impact on me as a writer. The research was soul-enriching. You might also like books by Charles Martin (although not historical) and Amanda Dykes.
Your comment means a great deal, and it really made my night! Enjoy the stories, and I hope you find some more good ones.

“The Love Note” is the first book of yours that I read, and I SO loved it! As I moved through each chapter, picturing in my mind each and every character and scenario, I was hooked. I couldn’t put the book down, anxious to reach the ending, yet did not want the story to end. I especially loved how you incorporated God into the entire wonderful story. I now have all the rest of your books in my “cart” at Christianbooks.com. Thank you, Joanna. Keep writing! I’ll be watching for your next book. May God continue to bless you as you have blessed others.
Joanna Politano says
Thank you, Barbara! Your kind words really made my day! I cannot help but incorporate God into my stories because he’s part of the whole writing process for me. It’s like an ongoing conversation. I hope you enjoy the other stories, and thanks so much for your encouragement!
Barbara Klunder says
Thank you for your reply, Joanna! I just received your other three books today! I am so excited! Now, the “problem” will be to discipline myself while reading them… or else all other daily duties get pushed to the “back burner” 😀

I just finished reading The Love Note and it was wonderful! What a beautiful story full of interesting characters. I love a good love story, but most especially when it points us to the one TRUE love story.
This was my favorite of your books so far. Thank you for it and please keep writing.
Joanna Politano says
Thank you so much, Rebecca! It was one of my favorite to write. I really loved the experience and what God brought out of the love story.

I read this book in two days. I loved it! I am looking into getting all of your other books because I am hooked! Your faith shines
bright here. Truly wonderful story. I am confused by the date on the last chapter, however. What did I miss? And what exactly did Golda mean in the note when she said she knew the secret he meant to keep from everyone? Guess I just got a little confused there. Keep writing!! Thank you!
Joanna Politano says
I’m so glad you enjoyed the story! I truly loved folding back the layers of this love story with God. I so appreciate your kind words. As for the date, we ended up changing things last minute and i think this date was missed! As for the secret, that was left vague, but it could have referred to the coming inheritance the letter recipient was going to receive in future.

Dear Mrs. Politano,
The love note was the first of your books that I read but not the last. I have now downloaded everything I could find on Amazon and added the audible when it was available. This morning at my mission field ( my Pilates exercise class) I shared with the group (many who had previously identified themselves to me as readers) that I had found a new author that had entranced me….Joanna Politano. I looked for the audible version of the love note and while I was not happy that I could not listen as well as read I could think of many literary reasons for there being no audible. 1) the whole point of how the note affected so many lives was that it was written not said. 2) the hero was a quiet man of only necessary words (defiantly not a whole recorded book full) 3) other than the Holy Spirit speaking in my heart the original love note was only available in written form. 4) we have lost the art of writing love letters only angry letters. I have now completed a rumored fortune. Wow! My heart sang with each notebook quote. I am sure I will use those in teaching. Thank you for giving your gift to bring the Giver glory. (Like that alliteration ?) Sincerely, Kim
Joanna Politano says
Oh Kim, thank you so much for this wonderful comment! I LOVE your mission field approach to the Pilates class. Great example for the rest of us. And thank you so much for sharing my books with the class <3 Your thoughts on the lack of audio are so perfect. I'd honestly never thought of it that way! It's the only one so far to not have an audio version. I was bummed because my husband really prefers audio over reading, but he did read this one--maybe that's what God intended. Thanks for the insight! Rumored Fortune and The Love Note were my two favorite writing experiences. The process of both was so full of God. Thank you again so much for trying--and sharing about--my stories! Blessings on your mission field, Kim!
Kim Daugherty says
It was so fun to receive a reply and yes, your name came up at class this am. I had a few final thoughts on why no audible. 5) Throughout the whole story the heron felt like she had no voice-no one heard her and so we don’t hear , we read. 6) Every person who read the note heard it in a different person’s voice. How do you do that on audible.
I am hosting a ladies tea in August and I am thinking about each lady receiving a love note from Father tucked under their tea cup as a place to start conversation.
Just started Lady Jane Disappears so I will as well. I look forward to meeting you one day. “May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and give you peace” (and more stories!). X
Kim Daugherty says
I just finished Finding Lady Enderly -another thought provoking story. I was uncomfortable a long way into this book which means it probably hit a nerve. I enjoyed the audible so much but can so see a ladies book club taking this one apart for discussion. Is there any chance of this turning into written form ? There were lines that I ran and shared with my husband as he prepares to give a million graduation speeches. “Enemies that threaten you are threatened by you.” I hope you are writing away as I now much go to the books between the cracks. Stay true to your heart . Kim Daugherty
Joanna Politano says
Do you mean, turning the story into written form? It is a print-copy novel! That’s where the audio came from. All my books are print copies first–let me know if you need help finding them!
Jennifer says
Just finished this. I’ve greatly enjoyed all of your books. Are you still writing? Anything on the horizon?
